An amazing heater/stove
I received the Dimplex compact stove the other day and I put in the guest bedroom. I happen to love Dimplex and have one of their largest mantels and high tech fireplaces in my bedroom. I've had it for six years and two moves and it's flawless. I also have two electric heater/stoves made by Duraflame in the other rooms. Here are my comparisons: The Dimplex compact stove is super strong, heavy and looks like a REAL stove! The flame effect is amazing and true to form for Dimplex products. It looks as real as you can make a faux product. The Duraflame stoves are metal and plastic and very light weight but look great on the outside, but super fake with the flame effect and fake pile of whatever that only shows a red color - very fake looking, but the heater works so well. The heating for both products is superb! The Dimplex compact heater has the controls in the back and the remote is only on and off, so make sure you set your heat comfort first as instructed. If you don't want heat then click the heat button to off position. The flame effect is beautiful for a little stove like this one. DImplex masters that. Few of the Duraflame models (like I have) have not only the on/off switch on remote, but also the choice for heat or no heat and even a timer!!! (which I love). If the realistic flame and strong metal quality of Dimplex could marry the remote technology of Duraflame for the small heater/stoves, then that would be the PERFECT electric stove heater. ( I will say that the remote for my large mantel/electric fireplace by Dimplex in my bedroom does have all those features plus speed for flame and one for back ground lighting, it is amazing and looks as close to real as you can get). P.S. I placed bricks under each leg of the Dimplex compact stove to give it more height and also to allow for more air circulation.
