I really wanted to give it better marks, but it just does not put out much heat. First off, it's very pretty. Nicely made, nice glow to the fake fire, and the finish is nice and smooth. But it does not heat all that well. I have four different heaters across two houses. Two of them are the the "fake stove heaters", so this is not my first experience. My first heater was a Pleasant Hearth 20 inch heater bought at Home Depot. It has almost the same heat output specifications (5115 vs. 5100) and they are almost the same size. The Pleasant Hearth was a little cheaper price and has a two stage control which allows it to run at half power; where the Dimplex has a rotating dial to select the temp level. The Dimplex does have a remote control, which is s nice option. The big test for the two though is in heating a room. The Pleasant Hearth was used this winter when my heat pump went out, and during that time I had to heat only the room I was in...daytime was my office...nighttime the bedroom...for a period of two days before HVAC repair. I was amazed at the ability of the little thing to heat a room fast and hold it at a nice constant temperature. The Dimplex is placed in my bathroom now (half the size of the office or bedroom), and it has trouble heating the room. And that is with the HVAC running normally. But, the Dimplex IS a nicer looking piece of "furniture". I don't know...I don't think it is so bad that I will return it, but I am a bit disappointed in the heat output. Especially considering it is pulling 13 Amps of power. I would say to just be a little careful on this purchase. If you need the heat; maybe consider another option. If you are more concerned with it looking really nice; this is probably a good choice.

This is such a beautiful modern fireplace!!! Perfect if you want a contemporary look. The flames look absolutely stunning with all the different colored ice beds! Keeps our living room warm in the cold winter months.

With 75 colors to choose from I now display my favorite, purple, most of the time. Will do aqua marine eventually. Set up was quick & super easy! My twin is so jealous.

Bought this fireplace for an area of the basement which I call my "zen zone". It gives off the right amount if heat and looks good. I like that you can put things on top, so I'm able to add a couple of ornaments to the area.

Our new house didn't have a fireplace in the living room, which is a feature that is very important to me. I spent a long time deliberating between fireplaces and was a bit nervous about purchasing online sight unseen, especially at this price point. This looks just like it does in the pictures, and was a beautiful addition to our living room. I had to file one of the slots in the mantle down a bit to get it to assemble correctly ( I gave it 4 stars instead of 5), but otherwise assembly was quite easy and I was able to do it on my own while my partner was at work. We've had this fireplace for a few months now, with no complaints. It's finally started to get colder outside and I'm pleased with how much heat this thing can kick out, even though it's in a larger, open room. It's worth mentioning, when the heat is turned on, the unit isn't perfectly quiet, and occasionally makes a clicking sound, but I don't find that especially noticeable. For an electric fireplace, I'm also pretty pleased with how realist the flames are. We've had several guests who didn't realize it wasn't a gas fireplace until we told them.

This is the best looking ELECTRIC flame out there for a resosnable price. The delivery was perfectly on time, and it set up into the stone wall beautiful! Def recomended.

1. Flame is a bit boring - for that price - definitely expect to be able to select different patterns,bightness controls, and colours. A little blue would be more realistic too. 2. Sound option (crackle) woud be cheap - and well worth it! 3. Very surprised (and disappointed ) it doesnt have a thermostat control! (not even available as an option with the Galveston!)

I use my fireplace to be my main heat although I have wall heaters in my Apartment, which I haven't used since. It is more efficient and quiet. I was super easy to set up and all parts fit perfectly. I have had it a couple of months and love it. I get many complements on its quality!

Provides ample heat for a small room. Looks expensive and was relatively easy to assemble. The flame quality is great and I received lots of positive reactions from friends and family. Would recommend again and again.

I can afford better, but looking at a neighbor's, I figured why bother? It ain't marble; nor is it a real fire. But since neither real nor gas is allowed in our building, it is a really good runner-up. For the price it seems an excellent value both for the "flame" quality and the furniture quality. Very easy install.

We wanted to add architectural interest too the room as well as supplemental heat and we have achieved both.

Great entertainment center. Elegant, simple lines. Matches the decor of my living room perfectly. When it was delivered the driver left it outside on a pallet. It was rather difficult getting it into the house since there were three boxes totaling some 350 pounds. During the assembly process the front tempered glass plate shattered for no apparent reason. Service was great. They shipped a replacement right away.
