USB Charging Nightstands
Your phone dies every night in the same place: on the floor, stretched to a far outlet, or balanced on a stack of books. A nightstand with built-in USB ports ends that. Plug in, sleep, wake up charged.
It is a small upgrade that changes your mornings. No more hunting for the charger brick. No more cables snaking across the floor.
Sohomod has USB
nightstands with USB-A, USB-C, and full power outlets, in wood, white, and modern finishes. Most have two or more ports, so both sides of the bed stay powered.

What to Check Before You Buy
Not all charging nightstands are equal. Check the port types: USB-C charges newer phones much faster than old USB-A. Check the cord length: a short attached cord limits where the nightstand can sit. And check whether the ports stay powered when nothing is plugged in. Some cheaper ones do not.
Will the Ports Keep Up With New Phones?
USB-C with fast charging is the standard now. Old USB-A ports charge at a trickle by comparison. If a nightstand only has USB-A, it will feel slow within a couple of years.
The safest buy is a nightstand with USB-C plus a regular outlet. Outlets never go obsolete. You can always plug tomorrow's charger into today's outlet.
Mistakes to Avoid With USB Charging Nightstands
USB-A only. It charges at a trickle and will feel ancient fast. USB-C plus a real outlet is the safe buy.
No outlet backup. Ports are great until the standard changes. A regular AC outlet future-proofs the whole nightstand.
Wrong height. More than an inch or two off your mattress height and you will knock things over reaching in the dark.
How to Choose a USB Charging Nightstand
Match the ports to your devices, then make sure it still works as a nightstand.
- Match your devices. iPhone 15 and newer Androids want USB-C. Older gear is fine with USB-A.
- Count your plugs. Phone plus watch plus earbuds means you need three ports, not one.
- Check drawer space. Charging is the headline, but you still need room for the lamp, book, and glasses.
- Measure your bed height. The nightstand top should sit level with your mattress, give or take an inch.
- Look for cable management. A hole or channel in the back keeps the power cord tidy.

USB Charging Nightstands FAQs
Is it safe to leave plugged in overnight?
Yes. The ports are low-voltage, same as any wall charger you already use.
What if the USB tech gets old?
Most also include a standard outlet, so you can always plug a new charger brick in. The nightstand does not become obsolete.
Do they need assembly?
Usually just legs or handles. The electrical part comes ready to use.
Can I charge a laptop from it?
Only if it has a full AC outlet. USB ports alone will not cut it for most laptops.
What if the power goes out?
The ports die with the power, same as any charger. Nothing stored, nothing to reset.
