How far should this sectional be placed from the wall when fully reclined?

A

When fully reclined, you should leave about 4-5 inches of clearance between the back of the sectional and the wall. The reclining mechanism extends backward, so this clearance prevents wall scuffing and allows for full recline travel. Some customers prefer wall-hugger placement which only requires 2-3 inches.

Can I steam clean the DuraPella fabric?

A

Steam cleaning is not recommended for DuraPella polyester/PU upholstery. The high heat can damage the polyurethane coating and cause it to lift or peel. Instead, vacuum regularly and spot-clean with a damp cloth and mild soap. For deep cleaning, contact a professional upholstery cleaner familiar with PU-coated fabrics.

A

DuraPella is Ashley's proprietary blend of polyester fabric with a polyurethane coating that mimics the look and feel of leather. It's more affordable than genuine leather while offering excellent durability and easy care. The coating provides water resistance and stain protection.

Next-Gen DuraPella is available in three colorways: Slate (deep blue-gray), Sand (warm beige), and SET (cream). Each colorway is offered in all four configurations: chair set, 3-piece sofa, 3-piece loveseat with console, 5-piece sectional, and 6-piece sectional.

Are the headrests adjustable?

Yes, the headrests on Next-Gen DuraPella reclining variants are power-adjustable. A separate button controls the headrest position independently from the recline angle, so you can dial in the perfect support for reading, watching TV, or napping.

DuraPella offers similar visual aesthetics to leather at a lower price point, plus easier care (no conditioning needed) and better stain resistance. However, it lacks the natural breathability and patina that develops on real leather over years of use. For households with kids or pets, DuraPella is often the more practical choice.

Does the 3-piece loveseat with console include cup holders?

Yes, the console between the two loveseat reclining seats features 2 cup holders, a storage compartment under the lid, and integrated USB charging ports. The console measures approximately 12 inches wide and adds about 12 inches to the total loveseat length.

Each reclining seat is rated for up to 350 lbs. The frame is engineered hardwood with reinforced corner blocks, and the recline mechanism is tested for repeated use. For households with heavier users, this provides a substantial safety margin.

Yes — for orders over $1,500, Sohomod's free 5-Year Premium Warranty automatically applies, covering accidental stains, rips, and cracks. Most Next-Gen DuraPella configurations qualify (the 3-piece sofa starts at $1,899). The warranty applies on top of Ashley's 1-year manufacturer warranty.

The chair set includes 2 matching power reclining chairs as a pair, ideal for compact living rooms or as additional seating alongside a separate sofa. It uses the same DuraPella upholstery, recline mechanism, and warranty as the larger configurations, just sized for individual use rather than group seating.

Will the SET colorway match other off-white furniture?

The SET colorway is a warm cream with very subtle beige undertones — it pairs well with most off-white, bone, ivory, or natural-wood furniture.
