Located in the same building as the Park Side residence which we completed four years prior, the original layout of the Park View residence was a mirror image of its predecessor. Many of the same design considerations were taken into account, primarily the view ‘corridors’ established by the existing structural concrete columns that frame the panorama of Stanley Park and English Bay along the west elevation.
The relocation of the kitchen to the North side of this condominium unit served to enhance the natural light entering the space and the tremendous views into and from the suite. A subtle combination of clean detailing and a unique material palette was achieved by exposing and soda blasting the existing concrete columns and juxtaposing them with smooth-surfaced bright orange cabinets, rift & quartered white oak flooring and cabinets, and painted gypsum wall board.
