The winner of the Northern Lighting Student Design Award for 2015 is Buddy, a table lamp by Mads Sætter-Lassen with an extra feature, a small functional storage unit as its base.
Buddy was selected from 120 contributions from design talents representing design schools all over the Nordic countries. The winning entry was designed by Mads Sætter-Lassen, a Master student at The Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, The School of Design in Copenhagen.
The lighting object has a small functional storage unit that makes it easy to store pens, pencils or scissors on the desktop or in the hall. The shade is flexible and can be rotated in any direction making it an effective reading light.
The design of the multi-functional Buddy is original; it has challenged the existing lighting design standards, shapes and functions with its strong concept and characteristic form Northern Lighting
