Emblematic symbol of the work of a designer, a chair represents a big challenge when it comes to rethink it. The merging of our two offices naturally brought us to the wish of rising up this challenge.
The technical and aesthetic complexity of a chair allowed us to improve the abilities of each member of l’Appartement. Each part of the Hubi chair was first individually developped and then assembled with a harmonious and coherent language.
The simplicity of the different wood pieces allows this chair to be assembled efficiently and to be made with low production costs. The feet and the base are made of solid oak, and the back is made of plywood, in order to give to the chair a perfect comfort. The powder-coated piece is the central part of this composition, allowing the different wood pieces to be connected. This steel element insure a subtile stability to the ensemble and gives to this chair its asethetic and particular personality.
Finally, thanks to their flared design and a subtile detail under their base, Hubi chairs slot together and allow a consistent optimized storage.
