The Macarons are wooden table lamps with a lampshade, produced by Progetti in Luce and designed by Davide G. Aquini.

Each lamp is composed of an American tulipwood base and a patterned lampshade. The bases are available in four different finishes (natural, white, turquoise and orange) and the lampshades in four different purpose-designed patterns. Bases and lampshades can be combined as one likes – many different combinations are possible. Two of the lampshades rest on the base a little tilted to one side, just like a beret, whereas the other two rest on the base perpendicularly.

At the heart of the project lies the concept of diversified industrial series, which in the last few years has become a common denominator for many young designers and new factories in Italy. This makes “The Macarons” something very flexible and appealing – a gourmet’s lamps…

Pastel colours and digital folk textures are the main features of this set of lamps, whose name pays homage to the popular French sweet meringue-based confection. The lamps follow the same aesthetic canons, which results in exciting colour/taste synaesthesias.

New lampshades can be created and added to the collection: “The Macarons” are open to expansions and lend themselves to updates according to new trends in contemporary taste… in search of new flavours and ingredients.
