Factory Furniture has just released a new modular and adaptable seating solution which caters particularly to the needs of public spaces. The Sonobe bench is a modular seating system, which enables fluid, informal arrangements of public seating to encourage social interaction and engagement.
Sonobe empowers the designer to create their social space with a simple but ultimately adaptable palette which can also be re-arranged at any time to suit changing requirements. Designers Dean and Jason Harvey said: ‘We set out to create a seat unit which enabled the designer to create their social space with a simple but ultimately adaptable palette. The seat modules can be arranged and re-arranged depending on how you wish to design the space’
The recessed front provides a convenient place for bag storage whilst sitting. Sonobe can be surface fixed or weighted and placed without fixing, suiting public areas where some interruption is required without obstructing circulation. It is available in a variety of materials included powder coated and galvanised steels with FSC wooden elements.
