MCE LAMPS, designed by NOTE Design Studio for PERUSE, are ambient floor lights consisting of a glass sphere with an opening where the light bulb seems to float inside the glass, supported by a wooden base. The design of the wooden frame of the MCE LAMPS is inspired by the “impossible” geometrical patterns of the Dutch artist and draughtsman M.C.Escher, whose initials are repeated in the lamp’s name. By tilting the glass bowl, the light beam can easily be directed to the desired area. The high quality translucent glass bowl is blown in the Czech Republic and transmit a soft light and subtle colour gradations when lit.
The MCE LAMPS are available in three sizes and come each with their individual colour: a green (S), blue (M) and pink (L) version of the glass. Since the glass is made by artisans each piece is unique and can differ a bit in colour. The wooden base is available in white (beech), oak natural oiled and walnut.
