The inspiration for Lloyd came from the ancient technique of hardening leather.By submerging and heating leather in a specific order it becomes really soft and very flexible.
When you constrain the softened leather in a mould and let it air dry it will harden and keep the same form as the mould it was shaped in. By experimenting with this ‘old’ process a series of handmade lamps honouring this ancient craft were created.
