The Cane Pendant Light by KEEP is made using a multi-step process, much like making ribbon candy. It’s all about setting up separate “stages” for one final action, which is inflating the glass to its final shape. This process has to be exact from beginning to end, and timing has to be perfect.
We’re bringing back the use of glass cane to create striped patterning, a technique developed in 16th century Italy and used by mid-century designers. Using these traditional techniques passed down for centuries, we’ve created objects that don’t look like grandma’s lamps.
