We Do Wood designer Sebastian Jørgensen has rediscovered a Scandinavian furniture classic. The Nomad Chair is inspired by the legendary Roorkhee Chair, which was originally made for British military officers stationed in India and later reworked by Scandinavian designers Kaare Klint and Arne Norell.
The Nomad Chair is a true field chair and can be assembled or dissembled in a matter of seconds, making it highly portable and perfect for the modern nomadic lifestyle. The furniture parts are made from turned bamboo, which gives a lightweight, exceptionally strong and very comfortable chair.
The first batch of Nomad Chairs was a limited edition offered exclusively at the crowdfunding platform Kickstarter.com during six weeks in May-June 2015. The campaign received an overwhelming attention and finally reached 165% of the funding target.
