First exhibited at Ventura Lambrate 2015 in Milan, Moirai Lamps by Rezzan Hasoglu employ traditional hand-blown techniques.
During the rule of Sultan Selim the Third, the Ottoman Empire adopted the Venetian filigree glass technique. The typical white and blue style of the glass soon translated into ‘Çeşm-i Bülbül.’ The glass works were mostly used as gifts for diplomats or as tableware at Ottoman banquets. Moirai lamps reinterprets the traditional technique into a new functional form while achieving historical inegrity.
