The Stalb Lamps by Eric Fescenmeyer for Kassen Lifestyle is designed lighting that trends forward by combining current biomorphic design elements with the Brutalist principle of steadfast truth to materials.
A simple steel structure, curved to effect a soft shape while still maintaining its original color and hard edges. It stands on a cast-concrete base, also of its original color; the shade, a cube of recycling plywood, is enhanced only with a satin lacquer for a slight sheen.
The series utilizes the truest features of a materials – the hard and soft lines, the natural color – to create designed lighting that is at once balanced and dichotomous.
