Satori by Delo Lindo for Ligne Roset is a round dining table to seat 6 which may be transformed into an oval table seating 8-10 thanks to its integral folding extension.
Its solid ash base responds to the current requirement to bring nature into the home: the 6 ‘mikado-style’ legs which could appear to be ceaselessly changing, depending on the viewpoint one takes around the table. The ash is offered in a black or anthracite-stained natural finish.
The choice of finishes for the reassuringly thick top responds to customer’s twin expectations: matching materials/colours of sitting room and dining furniture from the Ligne Roset collection and sturdiness. Tops are thus offered in white lacquer (either gloss or satin-finish), UV-cured (dried under ultra-violet light) for maximum resistance; smoked oak-effect wood veneer; and satin white, satin white marble-effect or metallic anthracite coloured full body ceramic stoneware. The motif chosen for our marble-effect tops is not random like the veining of natural marble, but is obtained via digitally-printed coloured mineral pigments. The way in which it is cut and interlocked in large sheets nevertheless yields different results on each occasion. This reinforces the material’s nonrepetitive effect, just as one would find in nature.
Full body ceramic stoneware is composed of clay, sand, minerals such as quartz, kaolin, feldspar and silica, and natural mineral colourants. Its durability is acquired by vitrification, heating it to 1,300° in an oven. It is coloured throughout its 6 mm thickness and unlike earthenware has no superficial enamelled coating which could become damaged. Its surface is 30 % harder than that of granite. Its properties of resistance to abrasion, scratching, stains, chemical agents, thermal shocks and cold are all verified by strict norms. Its resistance to wear as measured by the CSTB (Centre Scientifique et Technique du Bâtiment) attained the maximum score of U4 on a scale of 1 to 4.
From an ecological point of view, this material is free from certain substances such as glue, wax, resins, binding agents and artificial colourants which might release volatile organic compounds (VOC) into the atmosphere. Stoneware has a wholly ‘eco-active’ aspect at every point in its lifecycle, with the recycling of all unused raw materials, waste and water. Moreover, each slab consists of around 40% recycled materials.
