Modern House with Stone Curtains by ELASTICOSPA+3 in San Quirino, Italy

When architecture and design firm ELASTICOSPA+3 were tasked with redeveloping an area in the historical centre of San Quirino, Italy, they created a concrete house that features stone curtains.

The stone curtains add interest to the facade of the building, while at the same time, they are used to create an decorative pattern inside the home, when the sunlight hits them.

The stone curtains have been made by threading small rocks roughly the same size, on to a variety of rods which are fastened on each end.
