Karim Rashid, one of today’s most eclectic designers, is the author of Cyborg for Martinelli Luce, a table lamp with a decidedly future-looking form.

Karim Rashid’s sensual and often ironic minimalism has made him one of the most “followed” figures in products, interior design, fashion, furnishings, lighting, and art, one who is well-known for the immediacy of his design and his absolutely original slant on contemporary culture.

Cyborg interprets a desire to create a table lamp closely tied to the present (or better, to a very near future). In aluminum, with a LED light source and a sinuous form reflecting a readily-recognizable aesthetic – as indeed do all of Rashid’s projects.
