Cover Lamp is a collaborative project with designer Afilio Abrego (Panamá) and Abel Cárcamo (Chile).
The lamp is made from the idea of a peanut shell, creating an analogy between the shell and its function; covering the dry fruit (peanut), keeping it warm and protected. From this idea the two designers revealed different concepts that stemmed from this natural shape with a protecting function. They came up with a design that encompasses the vision of the overall project.
The concept “Cubrir” (cover) was the beginning of the official development of the object, focusing on the essential observation between functionality and space, and so creating a sculptural organic piece that alludes to a blanket covering the space with the main purpose of creating an intimate atmosphere through the knitting of wicker and its natural white color. Covering the people in the room it creates a warm and familiar atmosphere.
