Balca from Florian Gross allows us to play with its hight according to our needs and mood. Balca makes it possible by screwing its lamp shade over the metal threaded rod. We can adapt it to our individual or group needs while moving the light source up and down. We can freely play with the light and adjust it to a reading light, a more diffused light from above or a light source closer to the pavement if we are sitting on the floor, for example. The form reminds us to the cattail grass, which changes its high on the stem while growing.
Balca was selected for the “Young Design” area at the Light & Building 2016 in Frankfurt.
