Studio INTEGRATE have designed Flux table. Flux table is the synthesis of explorations of the legacy of Islamic art with contemporary modes of computation.
The intricate geometry and pattern of the table is derived from a basic Toranj, which is a mathematical pattern used in Iranian architecture. The Toranj is a geometric pattern, which smoothly transitions between two layers, often appearing as a radial effect in a rhomboid contour. The generated form is manufactured using digital fabrication technologies and the end product is a polyurethane-coated dense foam table.
The legs of the table emerge at the convergence points of the base pattern and stretch towards the sides providing the balance. The glass top is considered an extension of the geometry, with its printed patterns reflecting the geometry of the continuous form.
