To commemorate its five-year anniversary, French furniture maker Moustache presents a new chair design by Scholten & Baijings, titled ‘Half Decade Beast’. The piece will feature in the prestigious and world-renowned design gallery Spazio Rossana Orlandi during the Salone del Mobile 2014.
The Strap Chair is a stackable, lightweight chair with armrests. The straps designed especially for this seat are woven in France exclusively for Moustache. The way the straps are wound around the tubular frame gives the upholstery its unique structure. The braided straps in conjunction with the typical Scholten & Baijings colour make the chair distinctive. The strength of the material, very strong polyester yarn, in combination with this type of braiding render foam and other upholstery materials superfluous.
The straps come in a stripe pattern and a light-to-dark colour range. The braiding and the unusual colours of the steel frame create subtle colour combinations.
The special polyester fabric and powder coated metal frame ensure that the seat is ideal for both inside and outside use. The chair can be used as a dining room, balcony, terrace and lawn chair.
The Strap Chair is easy to stack compactly and therefore very suitable for bars and restaurants. It is the ideal chair for a hot summer.
