Thonet has developed a club chair that stands out from the crowd by virtue of its contrasts: an elegant interaction between flowing and straight lines makes the design both feminine and masculine at once.
It is precisely this juxtaposition of opposites that lends this fully upholstered chair its intriguing sophistication. The effect can be enhanced by choosing various combinations of leathers or fabrics for the inner and outer shells.
Thanks to the possibilities for individualising the design, the S 81 can harmonise with multiple interior design styles. Colour and material combinations can be chosen to complement other pieces of furniture: “Depending on the combination, the result can be a new and individual collector’s item which can stand alone as a highlight or work together in a larger grouping. Depending on personal taste and preferences, the variations are countless,” says designer Emilia Becker of the Thonet Design Team. Furthermore, each chair can be differentiated with ornamental seams or piping to emphasise the design’s refined contours. The S 831 can thus offer either a uniform aesthetic for the contract or residential segment or create a colourful and eye-catching accent.
